Young acting talents ALAN S. KIM and ELSIE FISHER star as Shae (9) and Aja (19), an unlikely duo in a dark coming-of age comedy about shaping up to your responsibilities and looking out for your friends.

Shae has had a bad run of luck with his elderly babysitters – they all keep turning up dead! A loner at school and with a mom, Nora (JAE SUH PARK), who’s always working at the hospital, Shae just wants a normal life. And to make matters worse, he now seems to be a suspect in a police investigation.

Aja hasn’t had it easy either: growing up in a cheap motel with her drug-dealing mother Marcy (IDINA MENZEL), she’s looking for a new job and a way to escape her troubled life. After a chance meeting with Shae, the two bond, and Shae convinces his mom to give Aja the now vacant babysitter position. For the first time in a long time, life seems better for both of them, becoming the friend that each of them needs.

But when Marcy gets involved in a drug deal gone wrong, Shae and Aja’s worlds collide in a way neither of them envisaged, and their new friendship will be tested to the limits.
